Introducing a Plant Based Diet
I know that I'm now crossing into sacred ground. Telling people what they should or shouldn't eat can be a very touchy subject. So many customs and emotions are tied into our choices of food. For some of us, certain meals are family traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. How could we think of changing these things or stopping them altogether?
The only answer I have to that question is for you to think about your health.
A plant based diet has a complex source of vitamins and minerals that the body needs to function optimally. There are so many tasty options out there that you will miss eating meat less and less. Please understand that I am not saying that you should never eat meat. I am saying that we should increase the amount of plants that we intake so that meat is not always the necessary protein in our meals. Take an inventory of what fruits and vegetables you eat on a daily basis. How can you increase your intake of these life affirming foods? What are some things that you would like to add to your diet? Please take a look at the first three sections of the Plant Based Diet for Beginners. We will chat on Thursday evening about the ways you plan to increase your plant intake.
